He has LOVED it!
He was able to interview the staff of the Thirteenth Floor haunted house. He was able to meet with the owner, attend a private tour of the inside, learn some of their secrets and experience the haunted house first hand. He was then able to write his experiences and have them published I'm SCC's newspaper.
His next big interview came with tickets to the State Fair with his press pass. He was able to interview the ice carving specialist and the circus performers. He also was able to attend the Trace Adkins concert in the press box. Again, he was able to,write and share his experiences with SCC readers.
His biggest highlight would have to be tickets to the ASU/U of A game where he was able to cheer on the Sun Devils to a smashing win over the Wildcats. He loved the game but absolutely cherished harassing his Aunt Jodi, who is a die hard Wildcat fan.
He has an upcoming interview with ASU's quarterback and will write his experiences on the entire experience after his upcoming interview.
Hayden has learned so much being mentored by a college journalism professor and Newspaper advisor. It doesn't hurt that the one mentoring him is Grandma Julie. She has helped him to become a much better writer and interviewer.
The skills he has learned have helped his writing skills so much that he received the best report, both oral, power point presentation and written report in the sixth grade. Pretty impressive.
I am so proud of Hayden and the way he works hard to improve his talents. And yes, I secretly love that he loves to write like his momma.
