Missionaries

The missionaries came back over tonight. I think they honestly missed Hayden. We love the Spirit they bring into our home, even when they are just stopping by for water.

We had Elder Howard teach Hayden the ABC's of Repentance again. I couldn't remember what B and D were supposed to be. If you hold a pencil with your hand. One by one, open your fingers...
A-Admit
B-Be Sorry
C-Confess
D-Don't Do it Again
By this time, your thumb is still holding on. The hardest step comes to play.
E-Enjoy life
As you let go of the sin, forgive ourselves and move forward with our lives the repentance process is complete.

Hayden had an interesting conversation with Grandma Julie the other day regarding this process. He talked to her and said that he understood that Heavenly Father forgives us when we sin. He felt when he did something wrong that Heavenly Father would forgive him but then said, "The hard part is learning to forgive myself. I can feel Heavenly Father's forgiveness but have a hard time forgiving myself and letting it go."

That boy is so me. In our house we are working on step E. Once you are moving back in the right direction, forgive yourself of your shortcomings and enjoy life as you move forward.

Have I mentioned how much I love the missionaries being around and how much they have taught Hayden? It has been a remarkable journey!

Family Play Time

I am usually behind the camera at family events. This time, Julie had the camera and she captured our family perfectly. This is a glimpse into our lives. Thomas is such a tease! And, boy does that guy love to play and joke around! He spent the day dunking me, putting me into the waterfalls and sneaking up on me and Hayden. Hayden and Thomas had their share of squirt gun fights, basketball and splashing each other!
I sure love this guy!

Don't get me wrong, I have had to learn to defend myself with Thomas and Hayden. They will attack whether I fight back or not! I love when I can catch one of them off guard and get in a quick squirt or dunk. Usually that means that I am in for it and they always pay me back but I sure love the moments when I can catch either of them off guard!
This guy is my world! I love that in the last couple weeks he has turned back into a momma's boy and wants me around constantly. I LOVE playing with him. I honestly think that life just keeps getting better and better. I am so lucky to be apart of this wonderful family!
Yep, it was the perfect 4th of July!

4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July BBQ and swim party. Jake and Rosie were out of town so we were able to have a Murphy party at their house. We swam, BBQ'd hamburgers and hotdogs and ate lots of ice cream! It was such a wonderful day!
TJ, Brody and Julie all came with us! I sure love these guys!
Kelli, Kassandra, Lily and Joyce... we had so much fun just sitting talking, laughing and relaxing in the nice cool pool.

It was an absolutely perfect 4th of July holiday! Hayden's face shows it all. We certainly love spending time with family, cousins and swimming.
