Pinewood Derby Race

Hayden's first Pinewood Derby was so eventful. First of all, they lost his car. I was NOT a happy mom. Once they found it, all was well. Hayden was so excited to race his car, Terminator.
Me and my boy! I am so lucky to be this boy's mom! He is kind, wonderful, compassionate and brings me more joy and happiness than I could have ever imagined. I love his smile that just lights up his sweet face.
Hayden called Aunt Jodi in the morning and asked if she was coming to the Pinewood Derby. He was so amazed that she wasn't planning on coming. His response, "Aunt Jodi, you care more about scouts than my mom or dad. You have to be there." Jodi quickly changed plans and made it right over. What a great Aunt to change plans to be there to support Hayden. It meant so much to him. He definitely relates scouting to Aunt Jodi and Uncle Troy.
Grandma Julie made Hayden a special breakfast of french toast to start the morning off right. He loved that she made it a special day for him.
Hayden with Talmage and his dad. I love that Thomas and Hayden are starting to do cub scouts together and having fun with the activities and goals.
Aunt Suzi was great to get up and come support her favorite Cub Scout. He loved that she was amongst his support system.
Hayden was sooooo excited when his car took first place on this run. He was not happy that on the previous run it did not win. He went in fully expecting to take 1st place. We had a great lesson on participating for the enjoyment, not the competition. I do love how excited he gets.
Grandma Joyce was great and headed over as quickly as possible to make sure she was in attendance at the beginning of the event. Hayden is so lucky to have such a great support system and so many people that love him. The leaders laughed that whatever Hayden does, there are a ton of people to support him. We are so lucky!
Hayden won for the best flame thrower. He had awesome flame stickers on his car! It was a great day for Hayden!

So proud of you, Hayden! Love my guy! I am so glad he called me to come see his race. How could I not show up after he said all that?! He definitely knows how to work us all.
